Many parents successfully reduce or wean off night feeds within one week. For other families, it could take longer. Every family is unique. Please ask your baby's doctor how quickly you can night wean ,
Yes, every child will stop feeding at night at some point.
This is a milestone that is reached at various ages and depends on factors including whether or not families co-sleep, how well a child eats during the day and if feeding is used for soothing and helping babies fall asleep.
Some families prefer to wait until their child no longer asks for night feeds, and that's ok!
If waking at night for feeds is causing stress for your family or your doctor recommends night weaning to increase your child's daytime appetite- then I recommend you utilize my clear & effective 'A Lactation Consultant's Guide to Night Weaning.'
This is not a sleep training course.
This course focuses on reducing (or stopping) your baby's night feeds. Many babies will start sleeping better as they eat less at night, but not all. Some will still wake at night needing to be comforted back to sleep.
If you'd like to reduce your baby's night feeds AND get them sleeping long stretches every night, then my proven sleep training program is the right choice for you. It's breastfeeding-friendly, customizable & comes with a support option. Find out the details about it here.
No. Night weaning depends on your baby’s developmental readiness and overall growth and weight gain. Babies that drink only breast milk or formula can still sleep long stretches at night. It really just depends on each baby.
I’ve worked with 7-month olds not yet on solids who slept through the night and others who needed 2-3 meals of solids each day before fully night weaning. Ask your baby's doctor if they approve of night weaning. And if so, come join this course!
You may be surprised to see your baby’s interest in solids increase as they eat less overnight.
If you're not satisfied with this online mini-course you may request a full refund within 30 days of purchase.
"My 10 month old is now eating solids well and sleeping more at night. Can't thank you enough!"
